the photographer: Tash Jones

Tash JonesThe photographer behind urban grit is Tash Jones.

“My main focus is urban & sense of place photography, taking a documentary style approach and blurring the boundaries with fine art photography. My passion is in the beauty and strong imagery which can be found in ordinary, every day, environments.

Having trained as a chartered landscape architect, my background is in analysing and assessing landscapes, townscapes and what comprises a ‘sense of place’. This developed my skills in visual analysis, context and composition; which directly transfer into my photographic art.

I’ve exhibited my photography at the Royal West of England Academy’s 162nd Annual Open Exhibition (2014). A selection of my photographs have been produced for floor-to-ceiling and large scale artworks for office decoration; and a selection of my photographs were used in set decoration for the acclaimed TV drama, The Five (screened on Sky 1, April/May 2016).”
